Food Safety

Production Process

At Comercializadora G.A.B., we are committed to the quality and safety of our products, so we have developed and implemented a comprehensive system of quality control throughout our production process, which allows us to have more control over our products and services.  It is based on the following points:

  • Control of the entire chain of production and certification in Good Agricultural Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • The control and regular training of our staff.
  • The history and rotation of fields.
  • The use of chemicals approved by regulatory agencies in environmental protection and food security in Mexico and the U.S.
  • Proper and minimal use of fertilizers.
  • Ensuring the microbiological quality of irrigation water.
  • Microbiological analysis of pre and post-harvest products.

We own our water resivoirs, which are continually controlled and reviewed to ensure the ability to irrigate our crops, of which 90% is done by drip, to maintain a continuous supply of products throughout the year.  We are committed to caring for and minimizing the use of water and soil.

The key to the success of the MR. LUCKY brand is the guaranteed safety of our products.  This is achieved by working for over 30 years in agricultural production, using the latest technology in advanced irrigation systems, and integrated fertigation and pest management systems.

Good Agricultural Practices

Good Agricultural Practices are procedures performed before and during the production of vegetables.  All the technical operations are regulated, inspected, and certified by agencies who specialize in food safety:

  • SENASICA
  • PRIMUS LAB
  • NSF (David Fresh Technologies)

To comply with these inspections, a monthly microbiological analysis of irrigation water has been implemented to prevent cross-contamination, control the use of pesticides, and provide ongoing training to our staff.

Good Manufacturing Practices

Good Manufacturing Practices are a series of procedures that must be done to ensure safe food production by avoiding any risk of physical, chemical, or microbiological contamination.  These measures are corroborated through the procedures of Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP). These are carried out, for example, by doing a microbiological analysis after the disinfection process, and performing daily testing of each lot to identify whether there is any desviation from the parameters that could cause health problems for the consumer.

Audits

The security we offer in all our products is backed by a large number of certificates to which we subject our production processes and marketing:

NSF. It is an independent nonprofit organization that seeks to protect consumers by certifying products and creating standards for food, water and consumer goods worldwide.

CCOF. It is an organization that promotes and supports organic agriculture and products through a certification program, and trade support, education to producers and consumers. The CCOF certification is based on its international standards and those of the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).

SQF. Safe Quality Food is a program recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The SQF Program is led by the IMF (Food Marketing Institute, www.fmi.org). SQF Certification provides to retail chains ensuring that food under their protection have been prepared and handled through vendors according to recognized international standards.
